Weathers update, Reds make offer to Rhodes

The Reds offered Type B free agent reliever David Weathers arbitration before Monday's midnight ET deadline, Weathers' agent Dan Horwits told MLB.com. Weathers has until midnight on Sunday to accept or decline the offer. The move enables the Reds to get a sandwich Draft pick between the first and second rounds should Weathers sign elsewhere. If he accepts, they would be bound to a one-year, non guaranteed contract.

Horwits also represents free agent lefty reliever Arthur Rhodes and confirmed that the Reds made an offer to his client.

"We've been talking," Horwits told MLB.com. "It's starting to get serious. There have been offers though from multiple teams for Arthur."
