Dunn, Abreu on Dodgers' radar
The Dodgers have started talks with Adam Dunn and will soon open talks with Bobby Abreu as they line up a possible outfield replacement to Manny Ramirez, according to a baseball source. The club had hoped, with a soft free-agent market, that Ramirez would come back on a short-term contract, but there has been no communication between the two sides since the Winter Meetings.
Acquiring any of the three would probably lead to a trade of either Juan Pierre or Andrew Jones. Pierre has asked for a trade if he's not a starter, but the club won't deal him until it knows who it has to team with Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier in the outfield. Jones is coming off the worst season of his career. According to an ESPN.com report, the Mets have talked to the Dodgers about acquiring the 10-time Gold Glove center fielder, but would require the Dodgers to pay most of the remaining $21 million on his contract.
Despite hot-stove rumors about the Dodgers' interest in the sluggers, the priority remains beefing up the pitching staff. The club is pursuing free agents Jon Garland and Randy Wolf, as well as a veteran reliever for a bullpen that has lost free agents Takashi Saito, Joe Beimel, Chan Ho Park Scott Proctor.

Put Dunn in left, Abreu in right, move Andre Ethier to center, move Kemp to the bench, problem solved.

If that's the thought process, then why not throw the other rising star on the bench and put sweet-pea's cannon in center? I'm sure you'd agree with me on that one, papi.

The Cubs need to jump in & sign Bobby Abreu before all of the left handed bats, they were supposedly looking for, sign with other teams. They already lost out on Raul Ibanez so they need to quit dragging their feet. I surely know I do not want Milton Bradley or Adam Dunn being a liability for them in RF because we already have one in LF.

trade pierre and jones and bring in dunn and abreu, pierre want to be a starter and wont be in LA so trade him for draft picks or use him and a package for Jake peavy. they need a huge ace in their starting rotation. and dont sign manny cause he will never accept a 2 yr deal with a 3rd yr option

You could get abreu and dunn for almost the same money as manny and wuold get twice the production . It would be funny if All of Baseball taught manny a lesson and made him sit home this year won't happen though . TOO BAD

Why on earth would the Dodgers sit Kemp he is a good young player. I dont understand that one.
And there is actually a good chance the Dodgers could get Manny for a 2 year deal w/ a 3rd year option like origionally offered. I'm sure there is more going on behind the scenes that i know of but there are not that many teams out there left that can give Manny what he is looking for. So he may just end up with the Dodgers and all Dodger fans should be extremely happy if they can get him for the next 2-3 years. He still got a lot of pop in that bat as shown last year.

If Manny doesn't return, Dunne is the best bet to replace him.
His 40HRs in each of the last 4 years, fits right in.
He may not be a great fielding outfielder and strikes out a lot but, I ask you, Who Cares?

I hope the Dodgers don't do any trading, unless it's with players in the low minors.
Pierre's a hard guy to trade because clubs don't need an outfielder without any pop.
Teams may take Jones but not his salary.

You might have a point but I don't think the Dodgers would pick up both Dunn and Abreu, they already have 4 outfielder, not including Manny.
