No deal in place for Odalis Perez

Agent Martin Arburua denied an ESPN.com report that said the Nationals are working on a multi-year deal for his client, left-hander Odalis Perez.

Arburua reiterated that the team has expressed interest in retaining Perez, but both parties are going to see how the free-agent market plays out.

"What I told you (last week) is exactly how it is," Arburua said by phone on Monday night. "I want the Nationals to understand that we are clear. We talked and that's where it is."
