Latest on Uggla, Hermida
Florida's recent trade with Washington continues to raise speculation that Dan Uggla and/or Jeremy Hermida will be dealt. Both are eligible for arbitration for the first time, meaning they are in line for hefty pay raises.
According to several league sources, the Marlins are not actively shopping either. The plan for now is to move forward with Uggla at second base and Hermida in right field. That said, while the Marlins may not be making calls regarding either player, the organization certainly will listen to any incoming calls. Basically, one source said, if the team feels "wowed" by an offer, then it would consider a trade.
The Marlins typically begin negotiating with their arbitration players about a week before Thanksgiving. So barring any offer that knocks their socks off, the Marlins are looking at an outfield with Cody Ross in left field, Cameron Maybin in center and Hermida in right. Uggla will be at second, while Emilio Bonifacio, acquired from the Nationals on Tuesday as part of the Josh Willingham/Scott Olsen trade, will get a look at third base in Spring Training.

I don't see Emilio Bonifacio as your protypical 3B. Using Uggla at 3B (or even 1B) makes more sense to me---with Cantu at 1B (or leave him at 3B). Bonifacio should be at 2B. Regardless, should be an interesting spring training.

Will the Marlins give Tagg Bozied a shot at the 1B or 3B job? Tons more power than Bonifacio

Keep Uggla at second, move Cantu to 1B, and let Bonifacio and Dallas McPherson fight it out for the 3B job. If not, get what you can for McPherson.

first of all they should have traded hermida instead of willingham because the hermida just plain sucks. I thought the marlins could have gotten a bit more for the trade instead of an young second basemen and prospects. the marlins infield should be eathier cantu 1B uggla 2B hanley SS mcpherson 3B OR Gaby sanchez 1B uggla 2B hanley SS cantu 3B i dont see bonofacio being of much use besides a pinch runner. I was very disatisfied with the trade.

I don't think Bonifacio will be a regular at any of these positions at any time, now you got Dallas McPherson being used and has a better hand at Third Base, and Cantu, who was concentrating on Third Base defense who is more equipped at Second Base, his bat is more of an option at First Base. Gaby Sanchez will get a look at first base this season after Spring Training. Dan Uggla will stay at second as a combo with Hanley Ramirez, they are seeing more in the future if he starts to fill out later in the seasons and becomes more slower at shortstop, he will be put in left field. That is just a thought, not yet being considered. Cody Ross looks like more of an option in left field, Fredi will go more for a more experienced player. Maybin got center field, and Hermida will stay right who looked good in the third spot when it was Fredi first season. But Cantu will stay more in that spot leaving Hanley in the cleanup spot. He used Baker more in the second spot, he may get time over there also.

Hanley will stay in the leadoff spot, there was a correction. In the post, McPherson will see cleanup and Uggla will stay in the fifth spot or move up and Dallas will hit fifth.

Tagg Bozied is a free agent; his contract ended this year.

Hanley in left? be serious as it stands now in a couple years if they do change his position he stands to make the same switch A-rod made and go from Short to Third not Short to Left.
