Braves inquire about Olsen
Add the Braves to the growing list of teams interested in Florida left-hander Scott Olsen. A prime topic of conversation at the GM meetings, Olsen has already been talked about in possible deals with the Rangers and Indians. The Marlins are looking for catching and bullpen help.
According to Scott Miller of CBSSports.com, the Braves approached the Marlins about Olsen at the GM meetings. Ideally, the Marlins would prefer not to trade within their division. For the right offer, it wouldn't matter. In the past, Florida dealt Carlos Delgado and Paul Lo Duca to the Mets. They also shipped Mike Hampton to the Braves in November of 2002, and Cliff Floyd to the Expos in July of 2002.
So for the right offer, Florida will trade with anyone. Olsen, who turns 25 in January, should attract substantial interest between now in the Winter Meetings.

He would be a good addition but I think the Braves need to get Peavy first and foremost!!

I wouldn't give up any more than a C-list prospect for Olsen. I wouldn't give up anything more than Clint Sammons.

I don't think Olsen will be that desireable he wasn't that dynamic last year he had a few good starts and has no consistency I think he is over rated, not to mention his off the field reputation fighting, drinking, arrests, and his terrible temper is a large detroment to the team.I wouldn't count on getty to much for him ,I know Larry is a smart man and has all these considerations on the table.
I still say he need that additude adjustment that Joe Girardi started to give him, although Migueal Cabrera needs one himself he offered one to scott as well.
A Marlin fan.

No one would know him better than a guy that has watched him pitch since he's been in a Marlins' uniform.
I'll take your word for it Salbon. Anyway, do we really need another mediocre pitcher. I like what we have alot more. Besides, why trade for him when Randy Wolf, Mark Prior, and Jon Garland (not a big fan of),are all free agents this year?

It all depends on what the marlins are asking for him. Olsen is an ok #3 guy, but he is young and affordable.

I thik it would be great to land Olsen, if the Braves don't sign Hampton or Glavine. So i'm ok with the that, but first they have to get Peavy.
