Bernadina hurt in Winter Ball

The Winter Ball season is over for Nationals outfielder Roger Bernadina. He suffered a calf strain a couple of weeks ago while playing for Bravos de Margarita of the Venezuelan League. Bernadina hurt the calf after slipping on home plate in the rain.

Bernadina was treated by the team and returned home to the Netherlands on Sunday. He is expected to be ready for Spring Training, according to his agent, Storm Kirschenbaum.

"It was not a major injury. We decided it was best to go home, wrap it up and get some rest," Kirschenbaum said.
